Tamworth senior women fielded a depleted team at the 3rd fixture of the Midland Woman’s XC League.
In a large field of 380 starters, the trio of Katherine Bradley, Lisa Stretton & Laura Lewis acquitted themselves very well over the two lap, undulating, 6.4Km course. Running together and feeding off each other’s strength’s the three ladies produced very good performances. Katherine Bradley was first counter home in 63rd place, just ahead of Lisa Stretton in 65th place and ably backed-up by Laura Lewis in 72nd place. All three women produced performances bettering their seasons bests so far, just rewards for the training done over the Christmas holiday period. Team manager Paul Tasker commented, “I am really happy for the women with their performances, all three of them worked so hard together in the race and just rewards for hard work in training recently”.
The fourth and final fixture will be held on Saturday 11th Feb at Warwick University, Coventry.
