WMYACCL final race 14th February 2016 at Perry Park

In the final race of the WMYACCL, Tamworth AC athletes once again shone in the sunny but cold conditions at Perry Park Birmingham.

Under 11 boys

The Under 11 Boys once again performed well to finish a well-deserved 8th place in the final league table. On the day James Stretton finished in 10th place and he finished in 6th place in the league bringing home a medal.

His team mate Luca Bradley finished in 25th place with Daniel Aston in 42nd  and Josh Bailye 53rd.

Under 13 boys

The Under 13 boys ran as usual to their high standard.  Results on the day meant that they finished the season with a very good 4th place in the overall league table. James Sherriff came home in 9th place on the day giving him an 8th place in the league table. James Walker was 20th and Adam Morton was on his heels in 21st place, Finlay Cross had a good run to finish 30th and Nathan Jones finished in 68th. Walker, Morton and Cross finished in the final league table in 13TH, 21ST and 29th places respectively. Ben Edwards who didn’t race on Sunday, came an excellent 10th place in the final league table.

Andrew Woods

The Under 15 boys scoring team managed to finish inside the first 40 places, James Oakley finished in 17th place, Andrew Woods in 19th place, Max Kent was next in 22nd place with Bradley Hammond in 33rd place.  Non scoring Tom Holloway finished in 44th place.  The boy’s placings meant that they also came 4th in the final league table matching the Under 13 boys score.

Under 11 girls

The under 11 girls all ran with their usual enthusiasm.  Tegan Vickery once again demonstrating her strength by finishing in 19th place. Her team mates also ran well, Emily Pearce finishing in 51st place, Connie Allen was 53rd, Imogen Milligan 58th, Ellie Gauntlett 68th and Skye Wesson completing the team in 111th place.

Tamworth AC was well represented in the Under 13 girl’s race. Eight runners finished with placings evenly spaced throughout the field. Abi Hamer was first home in 13th place, Charlotte Perry 48th, Katie Stretton 50th, Sophie Perry 56th, Beth Winstone 75th, Amy Cook 80th, Hannah Evans 102nd and  Isla Crameri 105th. The team finished in 6th place in the final league table. Hamer finished in a creditable 9th place in the final league table.

Under 15 girls

The Under 15 girls proved once again to be the stars of the day with their magnificent personal performances.  The “Tamworth three” showed their determination to see off the opposition, Eve Clawley once again working hard to finish in 3rd place, Charlotte Bush working equally hard finishing just behind Clawley in 5th place and Hannah Brayer finishing in a brilliant 6th place. Not forgetting the rest of the team who also showed their metal. Erin Bush finished in 37th place, Emily Findlater 47th and Lucy Wheeler in 67th.  Clawley and Bush finished in the final league table in 3rd and 5th place bringing home medals and Brayer finished in 8th place in the final league table.

There was another fine run by Rebecca Brayer in the Under 17 women’s race, she finished in 7th place on the day and in 7th place in the final league table, another great performance by a Tamworth AC athlete.
