Away from the wind and rain, a handful of Tamworth AC athletes competed at the England Athletics Indoor Championships in Sheffield over the weekend.
The Under-15 Girls pole vaulters had an excellent day with Charley O’Neill clearing 3.10m to take the bronze medal. Ruby Coldwell also made a vault of 3.10m to take 4th place and a new personal best.

Bethany Ostick reached the semi-final of the Under-17 Women’s 60m with a personal best of 8.04s in her heat. She went very close again in the semi with 8.05s for 6th place.
Arantxa Middleton has been struggling with an injury, but still ran 44.09s in her Under-20 Women’s 300m heat for 6th place.
Jacob Spencer put in strong performances to win both his heat and semi-final, en route to the Under-20 Men’s 200m final. In a hard fought final, Spencer took 3rd place for the bronze medal with a time of 22.13s.
