Tamworth AC Senior Women’s Cross Country Team

Tamworth AC’s Senior Women got their cross country season off to a very good start last weekend. Running over a very heavily waterlogged and mud laden 6.5Km course, the Tamworth ladies applied themselves very well.

Katherine Snowden, running a very competitive race was first home in an excellent 31st place, followed by Rebecca Hobbs in 37th place. Third counter home was Nicola Brady finishing her race in impressive style in 45th place. Sarah Jemmett always enjoys these tough condition and produced another very good result in finishing the all-important 4th counter in 65th place. Rachel Howe also turned-in a fine performance to finish in 111th place.

Overall, the race was won by Polly Keen of Nuneaton Harriers in 25.08, from Laura Kyte and Beth Sykes both of Bromsgrove & Redditch AC in 2nd & 3rd places respectively.

In the team race, the Tamworth ladies produced a very good result finishing in 9th place with 178 points. Overall, the Team event was won by Nuneaton Harriers with 26 points, from Bromsgrove & Redditch AC with 48 points and Tipton Harriers in 3rd with 51 points.

The 2nd fixture in the four race league series will be held on Saturday 7th December at Droitwich, Worcestershire.
