A handful of Tamworth AC’s athletes made their way to Bedford for the England Athletics Under-15 and Under-17 Championships over the weekend.
Medal success came once again for young sprinter Jacob Spencer; who clinched the bronze with another excellent time of 21.73secs in the Under-17 Men’s 200m final; just 100th of a second off his personal best from the English School’s Championship earlier this year.
James Sherriff battled his way into the Under-17 Men’s 400m final to then take 6th place with a time of 51.71.
Bethany Ostick ran 12.94secs in the Under-17 Women’s 100m and Arantxa Middleton clocked 43.10secs in her Under-15 Girls 300m Semi-Final.
Away from the track, Amy Cook threw 32.53m in the Under-17 Women’s Javelin. A brief storm caused problems for the pole vaulters, but Isla Crameri persevered to claim 5th place in the Under-17 Women’s competition. ent 5;\lsd
