Ten athletes from Tamworth AC shone this weekend in what was a magnificent show of talent from school age athletes who came from counties all over England. They were competing at a very hot and humid Alexander Stadium in the English Schools National Finals. Over the 2 days all the Tamworth AC athletes supported each other in what was one of the biggest track and field competitions held. They helped each other through the ups and downs of competing against the best athletes from England and gained valuable large competition experience.
Competing in the Staffordshire County Team:
Isabelle Neville ran in her last English Schools competition in the 400m hurdles coming 3rd in her heat with a time of 65.16 secs narrowly missing out on the final.
Dan Cartwright in the inter boys 200m came 3rd in his round 1 heat with a time of 22.76 secs and then 5th in his semi-final with a time of 22.73 secs
Eve Clawley ran in the inter girl’s 300m coming 7th in heat with a time of 42.82 secs
Niamh Kilgallen junior girl’s high jump came 10th with a jump of 1.58m
Siân Hubbbard junior girl’s pole vault came 7th with a vault of 2.75m





Competing in the Warwickshire County Team:
Jacob Spencer running in the inter boys 200m came 2nd in his round 1 heat with a time of 22.28secs then 2nd in his semi-final heat with 22.18secs and finally an incredible run in his final to come 4th with a time of 22.03 secs.
Lucy Wheeler running in the inter girl’s 100m in her round 1 heat came 6th with a time of 12.85 secs
James Sherriff running in the inter boys 400m came 5th in his heat with 51.48 secs
Amy Cook throwing the javelin for junior girl’s came 11th with a throw of 31.04m




Finally competing in the Leicestershire County Team Isla Crameri for junior girl’s pole vault came 4th with a vault of 2.90m
