Midland League Division 6 at Nuneaton 7th July 2018

The 4th match in the series took place at Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton in extremely hot conditions.  The Tamworth AC athletes made the most of the weather recording some excellent results.

Senior Men

In the 400m A race John Jenkins came 1st with a season’s best time of 54.4secs and in the 100m  A race John came 5th with a personal best time of 12.8 secs. In the 200m A race he was 5th with a personal best time of 24.5secs and he came 4th in the high jump with a third personal best of 1.4m.

Christian Bruss came 3rd in his 100mrace with a time of 13.7secs and he was 4th in his 200m race with a season’s time of27.4 secs In the 400m race he came 5th with a season’s best time of 61.5secs. In the field events he had a jump of 3.57m and he scored a personal best in the discus with a throw of 14.16m.

In the 800m race James Walker came 6 with a personal best time of 2mins 18.7 secs.

Derek Bolton in the 1500m race had a season’s best time of 5mins 34.6secs, and in the 5000m he had another season’s best time of 22mins 12.8secs

Ethan Aidney came 2nd in the shot with a personal best of 9.01m and he came 2nd in the Javelin with a throw of 36.44m

Richard Johnson came 2nd in the shot B event with a season’s best throw of 7.41m, he scored another season’s best throw of 23.4m in the discus. In the hammer he came 2nd with a season’s best throw of 21.44m and in the Javelin B event he was 1st with a personal best throw of 22.78m.

Stuart Findlater was 1st in the Hammer B event with a personal best throw of 18.94m

Senior Women

Rachel West in the 100m A race came 4th with a time of 14.4 secs and in the 200m A race she was 4th with a season’s best time of 29.3secs

In the 100m B race Hope Spooner came 2nd with a time of 15.5secs and in the 200m B race she came 3rd with a time of 30.7secs

Sophie Perry came 3rd in the 400m A race with a time of 69secs

Katie Stretton came 3rd in her 400m race with a personal best time of 70.7secs and in her long jump event she was 3rd with a jump of 3.13m.  In the shot she had a personal best throw of 4.93m

Nicola Brady as a 400m non scoring runner had a personal best time of 70secs

Katherine Snowden in the 800m A race came 3rd with a season’s best time of 2mins 28.1secs and in the 1500m A race she came 3rd in a personal best time of 5mins 10.8secs

In the 300m race Lisa Stretton came 2nd in a personal best time of 13mins 28.7secs

Gabrielle Degg came 3rd in the high jump with a personal best jump of 1.35m and in the long jump she was 5th with a jump of 3.59m. In the triple jump she came 3rd with a jump of 7.9m

Field specialist Laura Allen had a season’s best in the shot with a throw of 5.15m and in the discus she came 3rd with a throw of 18.94m. In the hammer she threw 18.29m and in the Javelin she had a season’s best throw of 9.25m

In the 4 x 100m Women’s relay the team of Hope Spooner, Gabrielle Degg, Rachel West and Sophie Perry came 2nd with a time of 58.4secs

In the 4 x 400m women’s relay the team of Katherine Snowden, Katie Stretton, Sophie Perry, and Nicola Brady came 2nd with a time of 4mins 40.9secs

On the day the Tamworth AC team finished in 4th place and after 4 matches they are now in 6th place in the league. The final match of the series is on Sunday 5th August at Kettering.
