On a cool damp evening Tamworth Athletes joined hundreds of other athletes to compete at the Charnwood open series which took place at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium in Loughborough. Running conditions were not perfect but the athletes took the bit between their teeth and turned in excellent performances.
In the 400m women’s race u20 Isabelle Neville came in just in front of u17 Eve Clawley running against one another for the first time. Both scored personal bests Isabelle finishing in a time of 58.25secs and Eve just behind in 58.82secs.
Another excellent performance was given by u17 Jacob Spencer who also had a personal best in the 400m with a time of 51.54secs and in the 200m he scored a personal best with a time of 22.67secs
U17 Daniel Cartwright also finished his 200m with a personal best time of 22.20secs and came close in the 100m with a time of 11.11secs 0.12secs outside his PB.
U20 Andrew Woods ran in fine style in the 800m with a very close to personal best time of 2mins 08.51secs. U17 Lucy Wheeler missed out on a personal best in the 100m but came close with a time of 12.70secs. Millie Kellyman Sen in the 100m had a time of 13.04secs and Amy Bowen Sen had a close to personal best time of 12.58secs. Sen Harry Everitt also came close to his personal best in his 100m with a time of 11.42secs.
