The 1st Senior B team League match kicked off at Banbury with Tamworth AC athletes competing against teams from Banbury, Kettering, Shrewsbury, Hereford, Newcastle (Staffs), Forest of Dean and Nuneaton.
In the Tamworth ladies team Hannah Evans ran in the 200m A race finishing in 6th with a time of 31.0secs, in the discus A she came 3d with a throw of 21.1m and in the Hammer A she threw a personal best of 16.83m
In the 100m A race Hope Spooner came 4th with a personal best of 14.6secs and in the 200m B race she was 4th with a time of 30.4secs
14 year old Sophie Perry in her first senior event gave a good showing with 4th place in the 400m A race in a personal best time of 69.3secs and in the 800m A race she was 4th with a season’s best of 2mins 44.2secs. Finally in the shot A she had another personal best of 4.25m.
Olivia Wooley had a busy day with four events and three personal bests. In the 100m hurdles A race she came 1st in a personal best time of 20.4secs In the 400m hurdles A race she came 3rd with a personal best time of 84.7secs, in the discus B she came 5th with a throw of 10.48m and finally in the hammer she came 5th with a personal best throw of14.27m.
Gabrielle Degg had a season’s best in the high jump A with a jump of 1.25m
The 4 x 100m Tamworth women’s relay team came 4th in 59.4secs and the 4 x 400mTamworth women’s relay team came 4th in a time of 5mins 0.2secs
In the Tamworth men’s team James Rachel came 3rd in the 400m A race with a time of 55.1secs and he came 5th in the long jump A with a jump of 4.74m
Nathan Moore had a good day, In the 100m A race he came 6th with a time of 12.8secs following it up in the 200m A race with a personal best of 25.9secs and he had a season’s best jump of 4.54m in the long jump A..
Max Kent came 4th in the 1500m A race, with a time of 4mins 42.6 secs and he came 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2mins 12.8secs
Another Tamworth athlete Chistian Bruss also had a good day. In the 200m B race he was 4th with a season’s best of 27.5secs, in the shot A he was 6th with a personal of 5.95m. He continued with another personal best in the discus with a throw of 11.36m and finished off the hat trick with another personal best in the hammer A with a throw of 15.26m.
Curtis Lawrence also gave a good account of himself with a personal best in the 100m B race coming 4th in 12.5secs and winning another personal best in the javelin A with a throw of 22.03m
Finally the Tamworth 4 x 100m men’s relay team came 3rd in a time of 49.0secs and in the 4 x 400m the Tamworth men’s relay team came 2nd with a time of 3mins 57.8secs.
