The first meeting of the YDL Upper Age Group met on a cold and blustery day at Tipton Harriers Stadium. Tamworth Athletes gave good enthusiastic performances taking lots of 1st and 2nd places along with many personal bests and season’s bests.
Under 20 Women
Alice Mellor in the 100m A race came 2nd with a SB time of 12.8 secs and in the 200m A race she came 3d with another SB time of 27.1 secs
In the 200m B race Isabelle Neville came 1st with a SB time of 26.6secs. She also came 1st in the 400m Hurdles A race with a SB time of 66.3secs. In the Triple Jump she came 4th with a SB jump of 3.59m.
In the 100m Hurdles race Bethany Devonshire was 2nd with a SB of 18.9secs and she was 3rd in the 100m with a SB time of 13.6secs.
Olivia Woolley came 3rd in the Shot with a PB of .41m., in the Discus she threw a SB of 11.01m. She also had a personal best in the Javelin with a throw of 10.39m and in the Hammer she had another best of 12.6m
In the 400m B race Emily Findlater came 1st with a SB of 63.6secs, in the 100m Hurdles she came 2nd with a SB of 20.5secs and in the 400m hurdles B race she had a SB time of 75.6secs.
Under17 Women
Lucy Wheeler helping out in the Under 20 events had SB times and took 1st place in both the 100m and 200m races with times of 12.7secs and 26.4secs
In the 100m B race Hope Spooner came 4th in 14.9secs and in the 200m B race she was 3rd in a time of 32.0secs.
Sophie Pasley had personal best times in both of her races. In the 300m Hurdles she came 3rd in a time of 55.4secs and she came 3rd in the 80m Hurdles in 14.8secs.
Eve Clawley helping out in the under 20 women’s 400m race took 1st place with a personal best of 62.1secs she also had a personal best and came 1st in the 200m B race with a time of 27.5secs.
Sophie Perry in her 1st events as an under 17 took 3rd place in the 800m race with a time of 2mins 48.8secs and 3rd place in the 300m B race with a SB time of 50.8secs and she took 5th in the Javelin with a personal best throw of 8.1m
Sian Lewis also in her 1st season in the under 17 group in the 300m A race took 3rd place with a time of 46.2secs and in the javelin she had a personal best throw of 14.85m
Katie Stretton also promoted into the under 17’s came 2nd in the 800m B race with a SB time of 2mins 56.9secs. In the long jump and shot put she also had SB’s with a jump of 3.29m and a throw of 4.97m
Under 20 Men
Andrew Woods in the 800m A race came 2nd with a SB time of 2mins 21.1secs and in the 400m A race he also came 2nd with a time of 56.8secs
Daniel James had SB times in the 100m and 200m races with 12 secs in the 100m and 2nd place time of 24.4secs in the 200m.
Field specialist Ethan Aidney came away with a string of 1st places. In the Shot he had a personal best of 9.46m, in the discus another personal best with a throw of 20.02m. In the hammer he had a personal best of 17.84m and in the Javelin he had a SB of 32.58m
U17 Men
Max Kent came 3rd in the 1500m A race with a SB of 4mins 41.4secs and he took 1st in the 3000m race with a SB of 10mins 17.6secs. In the javelin Max threw a personal best of 15.15m.
Curtis Lawrence in the 200m B race finished in 27.3secs and in the javelin he was 3rd with a personal best throw of 23.81m and he came 3rd in the high jump with another personal best clearing 1.4m
Daniel Cartwright ran the 100m with a personal best time of 11.00secs and he came 1st in the 200m under 20’s A race with a SB of 22.4secs.
Jacob Spencer in the 200m race came 2nd with a personal best time of 23.0secs and he also had a personal best of 11.1secs in the 100m.
James Rachel in the 400m B race came 1st with a personal best time of 54.7secs and in the long he came 3rd with a personal best jump of 4.92m
James Sherriff took 1st place in the 400m A race with a personal best time of 53.4secs and in the discus he had a personal best throw of 15.52m
Relays
In the 4 X 100 under 20 men’s relay Team of Daniel James, Andrew Woods, Daniel Cartwright and James Sherriff came 1st with a SB time of 47.0secs
In the 4 x 100 under 20 Women’s team were Emily Findlater, Bethany Devonshire, Alice Mellor and Isabelle Neville they came 2nd with a seasons best time of 53.1secs
The Tamworth under 17 women’s 4 x 100 relay team of Hope Spooner, Sophie Pasley, Eve Clawley and Lucy Wheeler came 3rd with a season’s best of 54.8secs
The 4 x 300 under 17 women’s relay team of Eve Clawley, Sophie Pasley, Sophie Perry and Katie Stretton came 1st with a seasons best of 3mins 20.1secs.
The Tamworth 4 x 400 under 20 men’s relay team of Daniel James, Andrew Woods, Daniel Cartwright and James Sherriff came 2nd with a seasons best time of 3mins 49.1secs
In the under 17 men’s 4 x 400 relay team were Jacob Spencer, James Rachel, Curtis Lawrence and Max Kent and they finished 1st with a season’s best time of 3mins 54.1secs
The 4 x 400 under 20 women’s relay team were Emily Findlater, Bethany Devonshire, Alice Mellor and Isabelle Neville. They finished 2nd with a season’s best time of 4mins 16.1secs
