Weekend Round up 7th and 8th April 2018

A string of impressive performances by Tamworth AC’s junior athletes marked a great weekend

Royal Sutton Coldfield Championships

Sian Lewis running in the U20 women 100m came a splendid 1st with a SB time of 14.3secs, she came 2nd in the 300m U17 women with another SB of 45.2secs

Niamh Kilgallen pulled out all the stops to come 1st in the 100m U15 women race with a PB time of 13.7secs. In the 800m u15 women’s race she came 2nd in 2mins 53.1sewcs. She went on to come 2nd in the High Jump with a PB jump of 1.5m and 2nd in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.04m.

Lottie McLaren took 1st place in both the U13 women’s 150m race and the 800m race with personal beat times of 21.6secs and 2mins 39.osecs. A great start to the new season.

Arantxa Middleton also excelled coming 1st in both the 100m and 200m U15 women’s races. She scored Personal best times of 14.2secs and 28.6secs.

Anya Brady in her very first competition for Tamworth AC did well coming 2nd in the 100m U15 women’s race with a time of 14.3secs and she came 4th in the 200m u15 women’s race with a personal best time of 29.5secs. She leapt her way into 8th place in the Long Jump with a personal best jump of 3.37m.

Another fabulous start to the season was made by James Rachel who came first in both his events. He ran 24.6 secs in the 200m race and 56.7secs in the 400m race.

Amy Cook had a busy day and gave a good account of herself running a PB of 52.1 secs in the 300m and leaping out to SB of 3.40m in the Long Jump. In the Shot she had a SB putt of 7.83m and in the Javelin she hurled it 31.95m to take 3rd place.

Ellie Gauntlett won the 800m U15 women’s race in a SB time of 2mins 49.0secs.  In the 300m U15 women’s race she had a Personal best time of 54.1secs and she recorded a season’s best of 3.23m in the Long Jump.

Natasha Lee in the 1200m U13 women’s race had a personal best of 5mins 09.9secs

Ruby Spencer had a personal best throw of 23.72m in the Javelin event.

Hope Spooner scored a personal best in the 100m U20w race with a time of 15secs and she came 1st in the 200m with a personal best time of 29.8secs.

Charnwood Athletics Open

In the first of the Charnwood Ac’s series of open races Tamworth AC athletes had an excellent day.

In the Sen men’s 200m Adam Smyth had a seasons best time of 27.31secs and in the 800m he had another SB of 2mins 20.9secs

Isabelle Neville recorded a season’s best time of 59.53 in the 400m.

Eve Clawley also had season’s best times in the 300m in 42.95secs and in the 800m 2mins 24.1secs.

Charlotte Perry had a personal best time of 5mins35secs in the 1500m

Sophie Perry recorded a season’s best time of 2mins 45.3secs in the 800m

Tegan Vickery reduced her personal best time in the 1500m by a massive 9secs finishing in a personal best time of 5mins 38.9secs

Abigail Hamer ran to form in the 1500m with a season’s best time of 5mins 22.3secs

Amy Cook improved her personal best throw in the javelin by 4m with an enormous 35.08m throw which places her 6th in the UK, and in the shot she heaved the shot out to 7.53m 

Warwickshire Half Marathon

 Elsewhere in the Warwickshire Half Marathon on the anniversary of her heart attack Senior Sue Fairburn bravely ran and recorded a time of 2hrs 19mins 30secs
