Lifetime Membership Award
Tom Burton is Tamworth AC’s own 400m hurdles specialist, who in the past 3 years has been positioned 3rd, 4th and 5th (on the Power of 10) in the UK at this event. Tom has run in major events for Great Britain and Northern Ireland and internationally wearing the Tamworth AC vest. Winning a large number of 1st and 2nd places in his career and also regularly competing for the club in league meetings Tamworth AC are proud to present Tom with Lifetime Membership of the club.

WMYACCL 2017 Best Male Athlete
James Stretton winning the Boys Cross Country Trophy for finishing 4th in the Cross Country League which was the highest position for the boys
WMYACCL 2017 Best Female Athlete
Charlotte Bush won the Girls Cross Country Trophy as she finished highest amongst the girls in 4th place in the U17 group. Charlotte now moves up to the Seniors.
Senior Mens Cross Country
Steve Parkes had the best overall score in the Birmingham Cross Country League finishing 8th.
Graham Lovell Trophy 2017
Ben Evans wins this trophy for having the best Marathon time of the year 2hr:35.20 mins in Berlin. He is now training for the Manchester Marathon next month
Senior Ladies Cross Country
Laura Lewis Waters is the first lady in the club to do the Super 7, which is 4 league races, The Midlands Cross Country Championships and the Nationals.
Female Veteran of the Year
Sarah Jemmett won the trophy for her commitment to the Veterans League and she gained the most points of all the females.
Male Veteran of the Year
Adam Young gained the most points for the team of all the men and also competed strongly at the Masters European Championships.
Rodek Cup
Awarded for the highest ranked U13/15 on the Power of 10 rankings. One contender was Jacob Spencer who was new to athletics last year. He was ranked 66th in the U15 100m, 40th in the 200m and 15th in the 300m. A great performance for the newcomer. However the Trophy went to Ruby Coldwell who gained 2.10m in the Pole Vault which placed her 13th in the UK.

Heart of England Girl of the Year 2017
Lottie McLaren gained PB’s in 100m, 150m, 200m, 800m, 1200m and had a massive performance in the High Jump coming either 1st or 2nd in every event. We are looking forward to a great 2018 Track and Field season for Lottie.
Heart of England Boy of the year 2017
James Walker had PB’s in 100m, 200m, 800m and 1500m running his heart out for the club and himself. We will miss him but our loss is the YDL Upper teams gain.
M J Showell Shield Female 2017
Ellie Gauntlett had PB‘s in 800m, 1200m and 1500m and she was consistently 1st or 2nd in her races. Ellie will always do anything asked of her.
Ridgewood Shield Male 2017
Toby Wooton performed fantastically in 2017 winning PB’s in all his events earning the club big points and being a lynchpin for the team.
Amy Adams Shield Female 2017
Emily Findlater has become a very valued member of the team, running in both the u17 and u20 races doing 80m Hurdles, 300m Hurdles, 400m and in the 4 x 400m relay team coming 1st or 2nd in every race.
Tom Adams Shield Male 2017
Daniel James ran for the u20 men’s team always with a smile competing in every match doing 400m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump and bothe the 4 x100m and 4 x 400m Relays.
Male Sprinter of the Year 2017
Dan Cartwright stands out as one of the young sprinters coming through the ranks and if not for injuries would have ended up even faster. He took Bronze in the Midlands indoor 200m, 1st place at County 100m and 200m and finished 6th in the Mason Trophy 100m. Injury unfortunately prevented him from going to English Schools.
Female Sprinter of the Year
Lucy Wheeler is another young athlete who constantly ran the fastest 100m in the club in 2017 making her stand out from others. She was also the fastest 60m runner in the club and took Bronze in the 200m at the Midlands Indoor Championship. She won County 100m and got to Mason Trophy and English Schools.
Field Athlete of the Year 2017
Alex Berrow attended every A team fixture in 2017.He competed in the Hammer, Shot, Discus and Javelin, throwing the Hammer better than he had for 5 years, and winning PB’s in the Shot and Discus. Hopefully he can get by the little niggle he has in his shoulder to go on improving over the next few seasons.
Female Indoor Athlete of the Year 2017
Lauren Swindell as one of the athletes that compete at the Sportshall from U11 to U15 gaining selection to the Region and then to the UK National Finals along with other Tamworth athletes. Lauren took Gold in the finals coming 1st in the U15 girls speed bounce and became the UK National Champion.
Male Indoor Athlete of the Year
Kane Densley competing indoors for the first time saw him running the fastest indoor times in the club in the 60m, 200m and 400m. He qualified for the Midlands Senior Championships 200m final, took Silver in the Welsh Senior 200m Championships and a Bronze at the BUCS Championships as part of the Cardiff Met 2 x 200m relay team.
Dorothy Beech Award Female 2017
Olivia Woodward for the second year in a row has been the top points scorer in the Ladies A Team scoring 119 valuable points, 28 more than any other lady. She competed in all of the A team competitions across both track and field. Being an all-round athlete she competed in the 200m, 400m, High Jump, Shot, Discus, Hammer, Javelin 4 x 100 relay and the 4 x 400 relay.
Ray Roger Trophy Male 2017
Kane Densley competed in all the Senior Team competitions, on some occasions the day after National League meets. Kane scored 150 points (the highest total for years) – 33 more points than any other man. In nearly all meets he competed in his maximum amount of events – winning a vast amount of them. He scored in the 100m, 200m, 110 and 400m Hurdles, High Jump, Triple Jump, 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays.
Volunteer of the Year 2017
Howard Bush has decided to step down after many tears running the Junior Cross Country Team. The club would like to thank Howard for doing a fantastic job.
Best Performance at ESAA 2017
Owen Sherriff, Jacob Spencer, Tim Li, Thomas Randolph, Lucy Wheeler and Isabelle Neville all qualified for English Schools. Owen finished the highest ranked athlete finishing 3rd in his heat of the Intermediate 400m Hurdles and coming 6th in the Final.
Athlete of the Year 2017
Kane Densley was the top points scorer in the Division 1 Team that took 2nd place in the League. Every athlete and Official at these meets score valuable points, but the massive points tally he contributed helped secure TAC’s place in the top flight for another season. Fastest athlete in the club at 100m, 110m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles, fastest Indoor athlete in the club. He will do anything to score for the club, even when carrying and injury.
