A small group of TAC athletes started their competitive season last weekend at Alexander Stadium.
In very cold conditions, Amy Cook strung together a very consistent series in her javelin to finish 1st U15 with a best throw of 29.44m. She returned the next day to finish 5th in the shot putt with a best of 6.97m.
Eldridge Phiri performed well to finish 3rd in his heat of the Senior men’s 60m in a time of 6.97secs.
Isla Crameri made a welcome return to competition in the U15 pole vault with first time clearances at new personal bests of 2.50m and 2.60m. This achievement and new personal best also qualifies her for the English Age Group Championships in Sheffield in February.
Niamh Kilgallen had a busy day taking 4the place in the heats of the U15 60m hurdles , she followed this up with an excellent 2nd place in the 60m in a time of 8.96 secs. Niamh then threw a big pb in the shot putt to finish 3rd with a best throw of 7.95m
