Burton and District Summer League – Run in the Forest 5 Mile 9th April 2017

Tamworth AC got off to a great start in the opening race of this year’s Burton and District Summer League, at the Run in the Forest 5 Mile on Sunday. Following a closely matched first 3 miles, Scott Hudspith pulled away to take the win with a time of 27:53, from Ben Evans in second with 28:24.

Howard Bush took first V40 Male with 29:53 and James Oakley, making his BDSL debut, was first Under 20 Male with an impressive 32:04. Derek Bolton came home in 35:03 to round off a fantastic day for the TAC team.

Following his victory on the hottest day of the year so far, Scott said “I had a great race on an even greater day. It’ll set me up nicely to drop down towards middle distances in the coming few weeks”.

In the 1-mile junior race, Tamworth AC’s eight-year-old Charlotte Evans enjoyed a strong run to finish with a time of 8:40.
