Midland Championships at the Birmingham NIA 11th -12th February 2017

Report by Allen Cook

Several young athletes representing Tamworth AC took part in the Midland Indoor Championships.  The event was held at the prestigious NIA in Birmingham, in front of the athlete’s biggest crowds ever they all gave a good account of themselves

In the Pole Vault the athletes had to open much higher than they are used to. Sian Hubbard competing in the under 15 girls came equal 2nd. Iona Crameri was in the under 17 women’s event finishing 1st. Coached by Adam Lyons, the girls gained valuable experience at the NIA.

Amy Cook in her first event as an under 15 athlete scored a personal best in the shot putt with a putt of 6.96m to finish a respectable 8th. Coached by Paul Tasker of Tamworth AC it looks like Amy is ready for a great season.
