In the heat of the summer evening several talented Tamworth AC athletes competed in the Tipton Harriers open event number 3.
Under 13 upcoming star of the future Amy Cook threw the Javelin a record distance for a Tamworth AC U13 athlete. The throw a Personal Best of 29.61m not only broke the club record set in 2010 by Tamworth AC athlete Olivia Woodward but hurled Amy into the top 10 U13 Javelin throwers in the country. Her coach Paul Tasker said that Amy will soon be throwing the Javelin over 30m.

Under 15 athlete Lauren Swindell had an inspired run in the 200m with a personal best time of 29.7secs. She also took part in the Javelin throwing a distance of 18.87m
Sian Hubbard competing in the Under 13 Long Jump event jumped a distance of 3.49m and in the 800m race she finished in 3:09.9mins
Alice Jones in the Under 15 Shot Putt event came an excellent first in with a putt of 7.96m
