Athletes from Tamworth AC had an excellent day at the 3rd round of the YDL Upper at Loughborough. In spite of the team being very depleted because of injuries and exams. Tamworth AC finished 4th overall behind some very strong teams including the home team of Charnwood, Wolverhampton and Bilston and Coventry Godiva. There were moments when the day was very blustery which was reflected in some of the race times which had the effect of hiding some excellent performances from the athletes. The overall league position after three rounds was not available at the time of writing.
The women’s team had a good day with some of the Under 17’s taking part in both the Under 17 events and some of the Under 20’s events to make the most of the team’s strengths.
Tiffany Whelan in the 100m U17 B race came 3rd in 14.22secs, in the 200m U20 B race she came 5th with a personal best of 28.88secs and she had another best in U17 A Shot Putt with a 6th place putt of 6.94m

Rachel West scored a personal best in the 200m U17 A race with a time of 27.67 finishing 4th. In the High Jump U17 A she came 2nd jumping 1.3m
Omolola Ogunnowo was in top form taking 1st in the 300m u17 a race with a best of 40.01secs. Running in the U20 A race she was narrowly beaten in to 2nd place with a time of 12.49secs.
Olivia Woodward came 3rd in the 400m U20A with a time of 60.55secs. In the Javelin U20 A she came 4th with a throw of 23.63m and in the Shot Putt A she came 3rd with a putt of 8.93m
Olivia Woolley was hurdling well in the U17 80m Hurdles B race scoring a best of 15.75secs and she threw a 5th place 10.91m in the U15 B discus event.
Isobel Spencer was in good form with a personal best in the U17 A discus throw of 15.92m, and she had a seasons best in the Javelin A event with a throw of 23.96m
Isabelle Neville once again saw off the opposition in her events coming 1st in both the 300m U17 Hurdles A and the 300m U17 B events
Iona Crameri came 2nd in the U17 A Pole Vault with a personal best of 1.85m
Emily Findlater was not to be outdone gaining personal bests in the 80m Hurdles A coming 3rd in 14.19secs and another best in the U17 Javelin coming 2nd with a throw of 11.28m. Emily also won the 300m Hurdles U17 B race in 50.33secs.
Charlotte Vincent in the 200m U17 B race came 4th with a time of 28.87secs, in the U17 High Jump A event she came 2nd with an excellent jump of 1.48m and in the long Jump a event she jumped 4.2m coming 5th
Finally Charlotte Barnard won a personal best in the U17 Triple Jump, she came 5th with a jump of 8.22m, in the 100m U17 A race she came 5th in 13.58secs and in the 200m U20 A race she came 5th in 27.91secs.
The women’s team took part in 3 relays. The 4×300 U17 team of Charlotte Vincent, Rachel West, Oluivia Woolley and Tiffany Whelan came 6th in 3:18.1mins
In the 4 x100 U17 race Isabelle Neville, Rachel West, Charlotte Barnard and Omolola Ogunnowo came 1st narrowly beating Wolverhampton and Bilston, with a time of 52.70secs
The highlight of the women’s competition was the extraordinary exhibition by the team of Isabelle Neville, Emily Findlater, Omolola Ogunnowo and Olivia Woodward who in the U20 4×400 relay decimated the opposition by coming home in 4:12.50mins some 17secs ahead of the 2nd place Charnwood women’s team

In the Under 17 men’s team Tom Holloway ran in the 3000m A race coming 5th in 11:08.2secs.
Owen Sherriff took 2nd place in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 59.41secs.
Lewis Johnson won a personal best in the Shot Putt A event coming 5th with a putt of 7.36m. In the High Jump B event he came 1st with a jump of 1.5m and he came 2nd in the Javelin B , throwing 15.62m
Kai Evans in the 200m A race came 5th in a fast time of 23.96secs. In the Triple Jump A he came 3rd with a jump of 10.7m and in the High Jump A he came 5th with a jump of 1.55m,
Daniel James won a best in the 100m A race coming 6th in 12,25secs, he came 2nd in the 400m Hurdles B race with a time of 66.85secs and in the Long Jump A event he took third place with a jump of 5.32m
The final athlete in the U17 men’s team Andrew Woods had another good day winning a personal best in the 400m A race finishing 7th, and another personal best in the Javelin A wevent a throw of 21.57m giving him 4th place. In the 800m A race he came 5th in 2:15.6mins

The under 20 men’s team also had a good day with some excellent performances
Tom Randolph came 2nd in the 400m A race with a time of 51.96secs, he came 3rd in the shot putt a event putting 7.37m and 4th in the Hammer throw with a throw of 12.81m
Myles Richardson won both of his races, in the 100m A race his time was 10.9secs and in the 110m Hurdles A race his time was 18.26secs
Luke James came 2nd in the shot putt B putting 6.79m. In the Javelin A he threw 31.86m to win 3rd place and in the Discus A he also came 3rd with a throw of 23.23m.
Jake Allman had an excellent day with two personal bests. He came 1st in the 200m B race with a best time of 23.62secs and 2nd in the 400m B race with another best of 52.88secs.

James Woolley came 2nd in the Hammer B with a seasons best of 9.98m and 3rd in the Long Jump A with another seasons best of 5.91m
The 4x100m U20 relay team of Jake Allman, Kai Evans, Tom Randolpjh and Myles Richardson stormed home to win the race in 45.66secs.
Finally in the 4×400 U20 race the team of Tom Randolph, Jake Allman, Andrew Woods and Myles Richardson came a very good 2nd in 3:41.96mins.
