YDL Lower Age Group Banbury 23rd April 2016

The first meeting of the YDL Lower Age Group took place at Drayton School Banbury last Saturday. With the conditions cold but fair the Tamworth AC athletes competed keenly winning 7 first places and 35 Personal Bests.

Under 13 Girls Age Group results:

Abi Hamer managed 3rd place in the 1200m Group A race with a Personal Best of 4:15.0mins. In the Long Jump Group B she came 4th with a 3.3m jump.

Amy Cook finished in 1st place in the Javelin Group B with a throw of 17.27m and in the Long Jump Group A she came 3rd with a jump of 3.78m.

Beth Winstone ran in the 75m Group B finishing 4th with a Personal Best of 12.1secs.

Ellie Gauntlett was in the 800m Group A race finishing in a Personal Best time of 3:01.4mins, in the Shot Put Group A she threw a Personal Best of 3.84m coming 7th.

Emily Pearce took part in three events coming 4th in the 150m Group A race with a time of 24.5secs, in the 800m non scoring she had a time of 2:55.4mins and in the shot put Group B she came 4th with a put of3.63m.

Georgina Weal running in the 800m Group B race came 5th with a time of 3:17.9

Isla Crameri came 1st with a Personal Best time of 24.5secs in the 800m Group B race and she also came 1st in the 70m Hurdles Group B race with a Personal Best time of 13secs

Niamh Kilgallen came 2nd in the 70m Hurdles Group A race with a season’s best time of 13secs and in the high jump she recorded a Personal Best jump of 1.25m

Mya Strachan came 2nd in the 75m Group A race in 11.4secs.

Ruby Spencer threw a Personal Best distance of 20.53m in the Javelin Group A event

In the 800m non scoring race Sian Hubbard finished in 3:11.0mins.

Tegan Vickery in the 75m Non scoring race had a time of 13.7secs and in the 1200m Group B race finished in 3rd place with a Personal Best time of 4:49.9mins

The under 13 Girls 4 x 100m relay was an exciting prospect with the four team members Amy Cook, Sian Hubbard, Beth Winstone and Mya Strachan making the line-up.  The girls ran well on their first outing together finishing in 3rd place in a respectable time of 61.1secs

 

Under 13 Boys Age Group results:

In the 200m Group B race Caydon Fairburn finished 3rd in 34.4secs, He went on to run in the 800m Group A race finishing with a Personal Best of 3:00.5mins. He also competed in the Long Jump with another Personal Best of 2.9m

Daniel Aston competed in the 100m Group B race, he was 4th with a Personal Best of 16.3secs. In the 1500m Group B race he had another Personal Best of 5:58mins finishing 1st.

James Stretton in the 100m Group A race came 6th with a Personal Best of 15.5secs, he went on to finish 2nd in the 1500m Group A race again with a very good Personal Best of 5:19.3mins. In the Javelin Group B event he threw a Personal Best of 15.66m coming 1st.

In the 200m Group A race Kai Buckley finished 6th with a time of 33.1secs, in the shot put Group A event he came 3rd with a Personal Best of 5.76m going on to come 1st in the Javelin Group A with a Personal Best throw of 22.78m

In the 4 x 100m relay the team of four boys, James Stretton, Daniel Aston, Kai Buckley and Caydon Fairburn on their first outing of the season came 3rd with a time of 61.8secs.

 

Under 15 girls Age Group results:

Charlotte Perry started her events in the 200m Group B race, finishing 4th in 33.1secs, she went on to the 1500m Group B race to come 2nd with a Personal Best time of 5:37.5mins, in the Javelin Group B event she had another Personal Best throwing 4.17m finishing in 3rd place.

Team mate Eve Clawley started off her season with a strong performance in the 1500m Group A race.  She finished in a convincing 1st place with a time of 5:06.7mins. In the Long Jump she finished 4th with a Personal Best jump of 3.9m.

Hannah Evans looked strong on the day with a 2nd place in the 100m Group B race in 15.2secs, she came 2nd in the discus Group A event with a Personal Best of 16.24m. In the Javelin Group A event she came 4th with a Personal Best throw of 13.37m.

Katie Stretton started off her campaign in the 100m non scoring event. She finished 3rd with a Personal Best of 15.6. In the 300. Group A race she came 7th with a time of 50.1secs. In the Long Jump Group B event she had a Personal Best jump of 3.43m finishing 3rd.

Sian Lewis came 2nd in 100m Group A race with a time of 14.3secs and in the 800m Group A race she came 5th with a time of 2:45.2mins.

Sophie Perry came 7th in the 200m Group A race with a Personal Best of 32.6secs. In the 300m Group B race she came 6th with another Personal Best of 51.9secs.  Scoring another Personal Best in the 800m Group B race she came 3rd with a time of 2:52.0mins.  She went on to finish 7th in the Group A shot put event with yet another Personal Best of 4.67m.

The under 15 Girls 4 x 300 relay was eagerly awaited, it was the first outing for the new team this season with Katie Stretton, Hannah Evans, Sian Lewis and Eve Clawley running together for the first time. The girls ran well to give an exciting finish to the race coming 2nd in a time of 3; 16.9mins

Under 15 Boys Age Group Results:

James Walker in the 1500m Group B race came 2nd with a Personal Best of 5:19.5mins

Max Kent in the 300m Group A race came 3rd with a Personal Best of 45.2secs and in the 1500m Group A race he came 2nd in a time of 5:01.7mins.  He scored another Personal Best in the Javelin Group A event coming 5th with a throw of 14.97m.

Timothy Li ran in the 200m Group A race finishing 2nd with a Personal Best of 27.2secs.  In the Long Jump Group A event he had another Personal Best of 4.92m. With a hat trick of Personal Bests he came 4th in the shot put Group A event with a throw of 7.21m
