The third and final Heart of England meeting in which Tamworth AC came 5th leaving them in 5th place overall for the season.
The under 11’s are scored separately and the Boys team of Jacob Brady, Felix Farmer, Kian Griffiths and Henry Rogers finished 6th.
The Girls team of Tegan Bailey, Freya Draycott, Jessica Husselbee, Ella and Holly George and Darcey Wileman finished 3rd=.
The under 13 Girls had another really good day. Holly Hancock ran the 1500m “A” which led to Matilda Husselbee winning the “B” race, Matty also set a new PB in the High Jump and Holly tried Shot for the first time. Grace Thompson-Moore had a busy day, she came 2nd in her main event the 70m Hurdles and the “B” 200m and threw Discus.
Maggie Fulton-Pemberton ran her first competitive hurdle race with great success winning the “B” event. Tilly Farmer ran close to her best time in the 800m and won the “B” Long Jump. Robyn Edwards ran the 800m and Emily Webb finished 3rd in the High Jump. Ellie Lewis won the Shot and threw a new PB in the Discus. Brodie Horler was 3rd in the Long Jump with a leap of 4.10m and was 2nd in the 100m in 14.3 secs and Rosa Farmer ran the same time to win the “B” and went on to win the 200m in 29.0 secs. Finally in the 4 x 100m relay, Maggie, Rosa, Emily and Brodie, survived dropping the baton to still finish in a remarkable 2nd place. Bethany Livingstone and Niamh Springett took part in the non-scoring 800m and 1500m respectively.
For the under 15 Girls, Isla Rogers finally broke her PB to come 3rd in the 800m with a time of 2:34.9, she also came 3rd in the “B” Shot with another PB. Hannah Beales running her first 800m of the year following injury won the “B” 800m in 2:35.7. Lacey Bailey broke her PB for the 1500m by 14 seconds, Lacey also ran in the 200m and threw Discus. Emily Stephens set a new PB of 4.32m in the Long Jump and came 2nd in the 100m and “B” 300m. Holly Preston stormed through the field in the 200m to narrowly miss victory in 28.6 secs, Holly also took part in the 75m Hurdles and High Jump. Lucy Hornby ran 5:34.2 for the 1500m and threw Discus and Shot, Grace Young competed in the Long Jump and ran 100m and 300m and Blubel Gozzard cleared 1.15m in High Jump.
The under 17/20 Ladies were without Niamh, Emma, Stefi, Evie and Jess Salt through injury, holidays and other commitments which just left High Jumper’s Chloe Purkiss and Jessica Kilgallen who also competed in 100m and 200m (Chloe) and 800m and Shot (Jess). 13
For the under 13 Boys, Toby Douglas won the Shot and the Discus with PB’s and also jumped a PB of 1.20m in High Jump. Will Kemp also set a new PB in the High Jump this time of 1.15m, Will also ran 2:42.0 in the 800m. Alex Hall ran 2:36.2 in the 800m and also ran 200m and leapt 3.85m in the Long Jump. Jacob Gray recorded PB’s in the 1500m and Long Jump and came 2nd in the “B” Discus and Reilly Allan competed in the Shot, 100m and 200m.
Finally Tamworth only had 3 lads in the under 15’s, Zac Edwards, Tyler Brown and Will Upton and just 2 under 17/20’s Ben Godber and Will Fleming. Zac’s Long Jump was a new PB, he also ran 1500m and threw Shot, Tyler in just his second ever competition for the Club, looking for his best event and he may well have found it finishing 3rd in the 800m, he also ran in the 100m and threw Discus and Will Upton won the “B” 800m in 2:35.7 set a new PB in the Discus and also threw the Shot. Will Fleming ran 400m and 200m and Ben competed in High Jump, 400m and 800m.
Finally the Club must say a big thank you to Team Manager Matt Evans for all his work in the weeks leading up to the event as well as on the day and to our Field Officials, Andy Godber for his expertise on EDM, Lorraine Godber, Dean Hancock, Paul Tasker and Jamie Douglas.
